When we bargained over the new Bellingham Station, it was clear to me that agents were not going to be given a quiet room to work or have some privacy. The Agency insisted that the quiet room, customarily the computer room, is now the lunch room. I thought that statement to be ridiculous and insisted on walling in the computer room so that the agents can have a quiet and somewhat private place to work and meet. Long story short, the wall will be built shortly.
There are new stations in the Spokane Sector that were built without the enclosed computer room. The Union will take action to insure that they too will be walled in. We all have a right to some privacy, not just managers and supervisors.
