Use Your Leave NOW!

If you have been planning a project, medical or dental procedures for you or the family, or any other reason you have to take leave, we suggest you do so now.  If and when we transition to FEPA, we would loose the excludable day, therefore, the salary that is preserved with it.  The Union is doing everything we can to try and stop yet ANOTHER pay cut.

    Stopping yet another pay cut implies one tried to stop the last one. I do believe the union was supportive of pay reform. Has it’s position now changed?
    At least I’ll have next week to think deeply on that while I’m using some sick leave. This is absurdity in its finest.

    I personally spent a few hundred hours of my free time at home working to stop it. I know for a fact many other Union Reps did too. It’s extremely insulting to insinuate that we didn’t try to stop this. I believe the Union fought successfully for several decades to stop it. The current political climate made fighting it anymore impossible, so it had to push for what it thought was the best option. No amount of remarks or attacks on the volunteers working for you will change any of what’s going on now. There isn’t a Steward I work with that isn’t sick of this kind of rhetoric coming members.. If you spent as much time working as a Steward, to actually make a difference, as you do trolling the website maybe we’d still have AUO Longaker.

        The Local 2913 leadership needs go grow some thick skin. And fast. If you don’t like what people are saying, don’t respond or respond in a professional courteous way. No one is making you be a steward or an elected official. If the pressure is too much, resign, nobody will hold it against you. I will leave with this:
